Raid soundsystem

Post by Guy_Fox on Mon Feb 13, 2012 12:52 am

Guise, srsly, we need to give our musix system some more thought.

Star has a responsible job that often keeps him from protesting. And no Star always means no music.
Seriously, we have to do better than that. Does anyone have a
battery-powered boombox? If anything we could even put raid music on
oldschool TAPE.

Suggestions?

Well, I could always drag the Blaster Master out of retirement, if you cats really want me to. I might need some of y'alls to bring batteries. My mixtape is outdat-- oldschool, so if you don't like oldlulz, suck my dick, I'm a shark.

Yeah I was wondering about the music factor because I haven't done any raid yet. We definitely need something ...

The boom box I have is total crap

We usually have Star's Iphone dock, but it's pretty silent and if Star's not attending the raid, we obviously don't have it.

We need to have more alternatives so that it's less likely to end up with another silent raid.

I'm thinking of that DeWalt worksite radio (they have them at Rona and RenoDepot) and a cheap MP3 player from Source or Best Buy to hook up to it... that's what SF Anons do, and it's a winner combo.

Problem is my budget is completely tied up in the Eye in The Sky project. I can't possibly buy everything.

Hmm... looks like it'll need an 18V batter from any RIDGID power tool... Doesn't seem like it can run off regular batteries.

Come to think of it i think the DeWalt uses equivalent DeWalt power tool batteries, too. Dang.

Meh, I think anything would work well as long as it's battero powered and has powerful speakers. Ipods are overpriced, so not sure if that's worth it... If it has an aux-in jack, we could use a cheaper third-party MP3 player.

Unless someone can volunteer their Iphone to be the player, in lieu of an ipod Smile

What's wrong with the 18-volt power tool batteries? They're bulky and heavy, but so is my pingas.

LOL nothing's wrong with them, it's just that i don't think we have any, so it's an extra expense.

Nigga, you tripping? I have two 18-volt DeWalt batteries I can bring for raidan, should we need them. I don't know how much juice that blaster'll om nom, so it'd probably be best to bring both batteries.

Should Operation Mixtape fail, I can bring my '90s blaster. That bitch eats D-cell batteries, though.

Chances of many people pitching in are rather slim, we're notorious poorfags Razz

My budget is tied up in that... other project (as discussed in the private forum), and it seems I'll be paying the whole thing myself, pretty much.

I'll try and arrange something extra to pitch in, though Smile

Don't worry, I was just joking around. I have the batteries, but the Dewalt boombox is going to cost a lot... We could probably go to a pawn shop or Village des Valeurs or something and get a portable CD player for cheap. You could try looking at Comptant.com and see if they have anything. Their site doesn't accurately represent what they have in the stores, but it'll give you an idea of prices and the sort of shit you can expect to find there.
